Dilshad Ahmad is a Senior Research fellow (Policy) of the first Cohort at P.A Sangma Fellowship for Legal and Policy Research. He completed his Master’s in Public Policy from National Law School of India University Bangalore and joined the Fellowship with an aim to further legal and policy reforms in the beautiful hill state of Meghalaya.
With an aim to leverage strong analytical skills, policy research skills, Dilshad has been working with different departments like Health & Family Welfare, Education, Law, Home etc. of the Government of Meghalaya on several projects furthering policy reforms in the state. He is also a Member – Drafting Sub-Committee, Meghalaya Mental Health and Social Care Policy 2022.
Pulak Symon is a Senior Research fellow (Legal) at P.A Sangma Fellowship for Legal and Policy Research. He completed his Master’s degree in law from National Law School of India University Bangalore and currently pursuing his Ph.D. from National Law University and Judicial Academy Assam.
Pulak recently co-edited a book on ‘Tribal law, Policy and Justice’ and is a part of the Editorial teams for various law Journals. He also the Principal Investigator for National Human Rights Commission for an ongoing project on research relating to the status, functioning, and effectiveness of Swadar Greh and Ujjawala Home Schemes for women and adolescent girls in the State of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Assam, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu.
I, Kenneth Nongsiej, graduated with a BA LL.B (Hons) from the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya. After graduation, I joined the chamber of I. B. Nongrum and Associates, where I engaged in practicing criminal and civil cases in the lower court and in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council Court for one year. Currently, I am working asa P. A. Sangma Research Fellow in the Law Department, Government of Meghalaya.
Jade Jeremiah Lyngdoh is a research fellow at the P.A. Sangma Fellowship for Legal and Policy Research. Jade received his B.A., LL.B. degree with honours in constitutional law from the National Law University in Jodhpur in 2023. Jade was awarded a scholarship as part of the inaugural Meta India Tech Scholars (MITS) programme while attending university. Meta administers the scholarship in partnership with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. (SAM). Before joining the fellowship programme, Jade worked on projects with India's foremost lawyers, research institutions, and with an international non-profit organisation. His
previous work experience includes writing policy briefs for Asia-Pacific parliamentarians and working as a research assistant on an international report on the impact of blasphemy laws on media freedom. Jade's areas of expertise include data protection, human rights, and constitutional law. Jade writes columns for India's leading newspapers, including The Wire, The Telegraph, the Hindustan Times, and the Quint.
