Rushika is a Fellow of the Second Cohort of the prestigious P.A. Sangma Fellowship, currently working at The School of Traditional and Indigenous Studies at National Law University Meghalaya. She holds an integrated B.A. LL.B. (Major-Minor) from K.L.E. Law College, Bangalore, and an LL.M. from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore (2023).
Since assuming her fellowship responsibilities in August 2023, Rushika has played a pivotal role in the establishment and development of the School of Traditional and Indigenous Studies. Her research focuses on the interactions between traditional governance systems and formal legal frameworks, particularly in relation to the resulting legal pluralism in the state.
Additionally, she has contributed to major research projects at the University, such as examining inclusive education under the PM Development Initiative for the North East and conducting an in-depth study on the administration of justice under the Syiemship of Mylliem.
