Jade holds a dual degree in law and humanities, with honours in constitutional law, from National Law University, Jodhpur. While in law school, he was a recipient of the Meta India Tech Scholarship. His expertise encompasses constitutional law, human rights law, election law, and technology law. Prior to joining the fellowship, Jade worked with an international civil society organisation. His experience in the Asia Pacific region includes providing consultation on data protection legislation to Members of Parliament, supporting expert testimony to a legislative committee on the unauthorized use of spyware and monitoring trends on legislation related to encryption. In India, Jade has assisted lawyers in cases before the Supreme Court of India, the High Court of Delhi, and trial courts in New Delhi. Jade has consulted a leading international research institution for a report on the impact on internet shutdowns in India. He has also contributed research support to a report investigating the misuse of blasphemy laws to restrict media freedom. In addition, Jade conducted on an independent research project on the eLiciency of content moderation processes as part of his association with Meta. Jade has authored columns on numerous significant public issues in India for prominent newspapers including The Wire, The Telegraph, and Hindustan Times.
